Burning retinas
In front of the couple bickering about timing
And the late night commuters

Her friends are the dime of people
Now I know the full potential of brunch

calm listening to them talk in a separate tongue

we are of the salty parts and places
she taped into the reservoir of sea water
I’ve been collecting since birth
bathing with the Pacific Ocean in my Montreal apartment
across from the Esso station
above a cake shop and a third wave cafe
always softly playing Adrianne Lenker

Were all just talking noise at each other

little changes wether she listened and understood or just listened

She says it’s fresh and strong and it fills you with enough dizziness to live

felt like science when she said it
