everywhere else my legs are exploding and my eyes are dead…
Montreal is tucked under white and stiff shoulders.
In hindsight grateful for the need of salvation in liquid colour out of tubes
This commission was sent from my hometown on the West Coast
by a good friend—a lifelong inspiration of mine.
Meditation on the captains: Strong willed people steering in strong willed currents, helping me build up a boat of my own.
Sailing off I find courage in sharing the sea with such people
even as we navigate different shores
